XPO Logistics’ support for Missguided showcased at the One-to-One France e-commerce forum

Lyon, France | March 22, 2017

This is the second consecutive year that XPO Logistics will participate in this leading forum for e-commerce professionals, which welcomes over 1,000 retail decision-makers, primarily company directors. XPO has been chosen to showcase its expertise in online retail solutions, with a focus on its support to fast-growing ready-to-wear women’s fashion brand Missguided.

XPO Logistics has extensive experience in custom-designed supply chain transformations for e-commerce leaders through a wide range of innovations, including process automation with fully automated warehouses and a custom-designed solution to turn an order-picking center into one of the most advanced e-fulfilment platforms in Europe.

Since April 2015, XPO Logistics has supported UK-based Missguided in the ambitious reorganization of its supply chain, which saw a 40% increase in products sold in 2016, compared with 2015. With Missguided’s storage capacity at its limit, XPO was able to tailor a rapid solution that expanded warehouse storage space and established a new logistics hub, while coordinating the digitalization of manual procedures.

Bertrand Le Goff, managing director–supply chain at XPO Logistics in France, will present the backstory to this successful transformation to forum attendees. “This workshop will illustrate the key role played by the supply chain in the user experience. The rapid transition to new IT systems and the efficient coordination of inventory relocation we provided to Missguided enabled our customer to successfully launch online sales on the international market and post record numbers of orders.”

Brett Young, operations director at Missguided said: “We initially handled our own logistics, but as the company continued to grow we needed the support of an experienced third party provider. Working with XPO has allowed us to improve the overall customer experience and concentrate on expanding our business by focusing on the fashion that our customers love. The 237,000 sq. ft warehouse currently has four mezzanine floors housing over 200,000 storage locations and wholesale pallet storage. We still have a lot of time and investment to make in the facility which will eventually provide a semi-automated solution over a total floor space in excess of one million sq. ft.”

The logistics transformation completed for Missguided by XPO Logistics was recognized by the E-fulfilment Transformation Award at the Hermes Retail Week Awards, and by the Supply Chain Transformation Award at the Supply Chain Awards earlier this year.
